The Sharpshooter - Bret Hart's WWF Career

Bret Hart's WWF Career

Bret Hart's career in WWF had started in 1984-85 when he was in his mid 20s. Previously he had gained much success as an amateur wrestler but wrestling in WWF was going to be completely different thing. But still Bret got a bit of success in the beginning of his career in WWF as he was one of the two last men to stand in the Royal Rumble match 1986. The other was Andre, the Giant. But Bret's motive was to move further. So he formed a tag team with Jim Neidhart known as The Hart Foundation. The Hart foundation achieved great success in tag team wrestling. Once Bret also teamed with Jimmy Hart and they won the tag team titles twice. In WRESTLEMANIA III 1987 The Hart Foundation and Danny Davis defeated British Bulldogs and Tito Santana.

Till now Bret was only involved in tag team wrestling but from 1990 onwards Bret started to concentrate more on singles. He got success in the singles too as he defeated Mr. Perfect(Curt Hennig) in the 1991 Summerslam to win the WWF Intercontinental Title. Bret regained the Intercontinental title, which he had lost, by defeating Roddy Roddy Piper in WRESTLEMANIA VIII 1992.
In WRESTLEMANIA X 1994 Bret competed in a classic match against the monster Yokozuna to capture the World title. Bret proved his worth by beating Yokozuna and that he had the ability to beat any wrestler. Bret's career was at its zenith at this point. In 1994 Survivor Series Bret and Bob Backlund met for the world title as they had an unfinished business to settle.
