Bret Hart's WCW Career
After leaving WWF Bret decided to join WCW. Bret made his first appearance in WCW on Monday Nitro, December 15, 1997 in a Hart Foundation jacket. There was a great applause from the crowd to welcome Bret. Though Bret was now officially a wrestler of WCW he did not start straightaway getting title shots. In a TV interview Bret had said that he was on Sting's side and not on the nWo's. Bret's early days in the WCW do not impress one much. It can be said that he was frustrated as he was ignored and was fighting to build his reputation in WCW. In a match between Bret and Hulk Hogan, when Bret had parted from the nWo, Hogan injured Bret and Sting came to save Bret and face Hogan. While Sting and Hogan were beating the hell out of each other the Injured Bret came out of the Ambulance and into the ring. All were expecting Bret to attack Hogan but instead it was Sting to whom Bret had turned his back on. Nitro November 30, 1998 Bret defeated DDP in a No DQ match with the help of The Giant.
During a match between Bret and Sting in one of the Monday Nitro episodes Bret had taken control over Sting and was heading towards a win and his first possible WCW World Title when Luger came and hit Bret with a baseball bat. Bret lied down in pain and Sting had the Scorpion Deadlock on causing Bret to loose. Later in a match between Luger and Goldberg Sting came out to help his friend Luger in response but Bret came out and put the sharpshooter on Sting and would not let go until he made sure that Luger lost. Goldberg had the match won and after the match Goldberg and Bret hugged each other.
